Otter Estuary Ranger Walk
Leisurely walk around the footpaths of the Otter Estuary Nature Reserve with stops to take in the sights and sounds of the reserve. Learn about the wildlife that uses the estuary and what you can expect to see from month to month.
Following the completion of the Lower Otter Restoration Project, 55ha of new saltmarsh and mudflat is developing in the estuary. Find out more about the project and how the site is evolving with the ebb and flow of the tide.

Dress for the weather, sturdy footwear recommended.
The walk will last approximately 2.5 hours and will be at a gentle pace following flat gravelled paths for around 4km. There will be regular stops along the route at viewing areas with benches. Much of the reserve is accessible for mobility scooters but if you wish to discuss accessibility for this walk please contact [email protected]
Please note there are no concessions or toilet facilities on site. The nearest facilities and concessions are based at Budleigh beach or Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club.
