Wetland Weekender: Botany Walk

October 20 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

FREE

Botany Walk

The breaching of the flood embankment near Budleigh Salterton in October 2023 marked the completion of the Lower Otter Restoration Project.  With the breach completed, tidal waters returned to the lower Otter valley for the first time in over 200 years. Since then the vegetation has been evolving rapidly with freshwater habitats and plant species declining in extent and salt tolerant plants characteristic of saltmarsh and mudflat beginning to establish. Join Dr Sam Bridgewater for a walk to discover how the habitats and plant species of the valley have changed since the completion of this project and what further changes the next few years is likely to bring.

This event is free but booking is essential, to book please click here.
